A Spotlight on the KEEPCARING Consortium: Meet Rigshospitalet and Healthy Mind
Rigshospitalet and Jeanett Strandbygaard
Rigshospitalet is Denmark’s leading specialised hospital, known for delivering high-quality care for some of the most complex medical conditions. Beyond patient care, the hospital is deeply committed to research, innovation, and the education of future healthcare professionals. Clinical practice, scientific progress, and professional training constantly feed into one another, benefiting patients not only in Denmark, but also in the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
Representing Rigshospitalet in the KEEPCARING project is Jeanett Strandbygaard, MD, PhD, and associate professor. Jeanett works both as a clinician and as a researcher, specialising in obstetrics with a strong focus on the surgical and acute setting. Her research revolves around surgical safety, teamwork, and how new knowledge can be effectively implemented across complex healthcare systems.
Jeanett is the principal investigator of the OR Black Box project at Rigshospitalet, a large-scale initiative involving more than 800 staff members across multiple specialties. The project has driven a significant cultural transformation, focusing on teamwork, transparency, and safety in the operating room.
Within KEEPCARING, Jeanett serves as the scientific lead for Denmark and is also an Executive Board Member of the project. She leads Clinical Study D, which explores longer-term resilience through team debriefing after surgery. Her work directly supports the project’s mission to improve well-being in operating rooms and prevent burnout through organizational support, teamwork, and evidence- and AI-based solutions.
Healthy Mind and Malo Louvigné
